Why should I care about Social media marketing?

As a marketeer, you may be wondering if social media marketing is right for you.

The short answer is: yes!

As of 2022, an astounding 90% of people between the ages of 18 and 29 use at least one social networking site, as do 82% of adults between the ages of 30 and 49!

When done right, social media marketing can help you achieve your business goals by building relationships, increasing brand awareness, and driving sales. Here are a few tips to help you get started:

1. Define your goals.

Before you start creating content or engaging with customers on social media, it’s important to first define what you want to achieve. Do you want to increase brand awareness? Drive traffic to your website? Generate leads?

Once you know your goals, you can create a strategy that will help you achieve them.

Also! Keep the goal in mind throughout the ad campaign and don’t change it up. If your campaign is about brand awareness, stick to brand awareness throughout. Stick to the plan!

2. Identify your target audience.

This is a crucial step. Who are you trying to reach with your social media marketing?
Knowing your target audience is essential to creating content that they will engage with. When making content and deciding which platforms to use, think about their age, location, interests, and needs.
i.e. You should know what social media platform your target audience is using.

Business 2 Business:

If you are a B2B company, you are probably better off focusing on Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn ads. Your ads should naturally fit their audience, and running B2B ads only on Instagram, for example, might be a bad move.

Business to Consumer:

B2C companies might be better off running their ads on Instagram or Tiktok. This is not to say that B2B cannot target this market; many millennials are working or starting businesses and will make up 75% of the global workforce in just five years*.

When it comes to social media, quality is more important than quantity. Focus on creating helpful, informative, and entertaining content that your target audience will want to share.

4. Be active.

To be successful on social media, you need to be active. That means regularly posting quality content, engaging with customers and followers, and monitoring your activity to see what’s working and what’s not.

5. Measure your results.

Finally, don’t forget to measure your results. Keep track of your goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) to see how your social media marketing is performing. This will help you adjust your strategy as needed and ensure that you’re getting the most out of your efforts.
